Internships
GENERAL INFORMATION
Each session lasts four weeks. Sessions are scheduled for July only.
The focus of our internship program is to train potential community leaders to give balanced, biologically based, direction during this time of very complex change. Our faculty are professionals known as innovators in their areas of concentration.
The information transferred to our interns is not available anywhere else and is always cutting edge. Although there are no prerequisites for our program, we are seeking only those who show intense desire to recreate the world handed to us.
This boot camp experience will be 2-4 hours a day of Lecture/Discussion; 2-4 hours a day of field work, mostly on the farm-lab, and will require writing and communication skills sessions. The institute is set up to provide crash courses with an incredible amount of paradigm shifting information and experience.
The Earth Education Center at Sunbow Farm is constructed of cob/rammed earth and contains a lecture room and a full kitchen. There is an accompanying bathhouse.
THE COURSE OF STUDY WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING TOPICS:
occupancy, how we properly inhabit the land
how and what biology governs all life
how energy directs biology
how to create nutrition for humans,and all other life
how to create technologies that are purposefully interactive with sun, soil, air, water
communications skills, various forms of writing and speaking
Specific daily sessions with faculty will fill in these topic areas.
A syllabus will be available to interns after they apply, along with a list of required readings.
LIMITED to a maximum of 2 interns per session.
COST: $1,200.00. Includes class work, kitchen and bath space, and farm food. Tent spaces are available. Other personal foods and needs are extra.
HOW TO APPLY:
Internship intensives lasting 4 weeks are available for students whose interests would be advanced
by practical, supervised training.
There are no prerequisites.
Tuition covers instruction, a space to sleep, a communal kitchen, bath house and food from the farm. Some extra money may be needed to augment individual diets and for personal items.
