Before there were farmers' markets in our locality and before there was Organic Certification, Harry and many others were committed to organic production techniques.
This commitment reflects the alignment of gardening and farming practices with understanding of Natural processes. Growing food can be disruptive of those natural processes, or it can enhance those processes. Organic enhancement brings resilience as a result of our human occupation on this earth rather than leaving negative footprints.
Organic practices are not only morally right in an ecological or generally environmental sense, they produce higher quality food as has been shown through testing. (see the Organic Center link to the right) The reflection of that quality in human and animal health has been proven again and again. As a consumer it is far better to be eating organic than to be spending on doctors and drugs.
